After previous careers as an ICU nurse and a certified California Association of REALTORS® Forms Trainer, Marissa Charles has a powerful set of skills that have served her well since becoming a licensed real estate agent in 2019. The focus, organization and independent thinking she honed during her years as a nurse, combined with the in-depth knowledge she has of real estate contracts and their related forms, made it easy for her to transition into the role. Marissa serves buyers and sellers in El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento and Yolo counties. She is a Certified Probate and Trust Specialist and a member of the National Association of REALTORS®.
With an undergraduate degree in nursing and a master’s degree in nursing leadership, not to mention multiple awards for extraordinary nursing during her 12 years, Marissa always loved being a nurse. But after her son was born with special needs, she realized she needed to find a better work/life balance. She was always drawn to real estate and its many details, as well as serving others, so it was a natural fit. She has firsthand knowledge of those fields and their unique schedules, so she’s the go-to agent for many.
Marissa also comes from a long line of military service members; including her husband, who is about to retire. She is actively involved in sending out care packages for deployed service members and having been a wartime deployment spouse twice, she continues to be a resource for other wives whose husbands are deployed.
When Marissa is not working, she is running around her property with her husband, two sons and three dogs, including a mighty rescue dog named Scout from the Caldor Fire, and way too many chickens, geese, and ducks. She also enjoys baking and has a newfound love for homemade sourdough bread, among many other tasty treats.
